This morning I called Emma a punk. She did not agree. I told her that she was in good company because DeeDee and Annie are also punks. She said, "Well, I might agree with you on that, but I am not a punk!" Then she leaned over to me and said, "Did you know that when you get to be eight you are a preteen?" This was said with a sly little smile. I told her I didn't, and asked her where she heard that. She said she didn't know. I said, "Well, that is also when you get to be a punk!"
Sarah Beth does and says funny things everyday. I love the way she says "Dookie!" when she wants a cookie. She also says, "Di da" whenever we tell her that we love her, but if prompted she will point to her eye and say, "I," then point to her heart and say, "wove," and then just fill in the blank. It could be MaaMaa (Emma), Nini (Annie), Daddy, Mommy, Mag mag, and other family member or even Mee mock (Mickey).
She is in love with Mickey. She could watch it all day and has a couple of times lately when she has been sick. She has some Disney stickers on the seat in front of her car seat. Sometimes she talks to them. It isn't unusual at all hear her tell Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Nemo hello, no or goodbye while she sits in the car. That happens when she isn't dancing to Radio Disney or praise songs on the radio.
Another favorite thing I love to hear her say is "Dat un!" or "I ant dat un." She means "that one," and she is very good at making requests that sound a lot more like demands. She has bossy down pat, but she is so excited and enthusiastic about everything that it is easy to overlook. She often claps her hands and jumps up and down as she says, "Yay!!!" She also will throw both fists up in the air and say, "Yea!!!" when she agrees with something we have asked her. But if she doesn't agree she may tell us what she wants us to do and then say, "K???" That's if we are lucky. If we aren't she'll throw a fit.
She is also such a sweet little thing. This morning when I dropped her off at Diane's house she told me bye and gave me a kiss, then I headed one way toward the door as she and Diane went toward the family room. I called to her from the door to tell her that I love her. I heard her little feet walking toward me, and she peeked around the corner. Then she looked at me and held her little hand up to her lips. As she blew me a kiss, my heart just about melted. She looked absolutely precious standing there in her bright green Minnie Mouse p.j.s with her crazy bedhead. I just loved it!
