Literally

We are on our way to Bowling Green. Emma was talking to Tim on the phone, and he asked where we are. "On the road."

Tim: I know that. Where?

Emma: I don't know.

Tim: What did you just pass?

Emma: A tree.

Annie cooks

Annie is cooking supper tonight for the second time. Ever. She did great last night with baked chicken, best-corn-on-earth, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. Tonight she is making pasta. She was browning some sausage, and as she did, she was peering into the skillet. Steam was poring into her eyes. I said, "whoa. You need to back up so that isn't right in your eyes." She said, "Matbe that is why I'm getting all light-headed!". And just now, "Man it takes a lot of work to cook, but it sure is fun! I can see why Nana likes it so much."

little girl vs. getting big girl

Emma: The sun room is my house, okay?

Annie: No it isn't.

Emma: Just pretend.

Can you count to six?

Annie is really into keeping up with her exercise log for school. She has played wii sports during the snow days and every so often she says, "mommy can you count to six?". She is taking her heart rate. It is so cute.

Yes you are

Emma to Sarah Beth: "I'm a trickster, aren't I?"

Peek-a-Boo Plate

I decided to give Sarah Beth her bananas on a plate this morning. That worked for about 30 seconds. Then she decided it would be great for playing peek-a-boo. Plate over her head with bananas stuck to it, grinning at me like crazy. So we played and she got very sticky, but she was soooo cute and happy. The best part was when she decided to hold the plate up to her mouth and just lick the bananas off instead of picking them up with her fingers. It is a clear, orange, plastic plate, so I could see her little tongue just going after those bananas. Hilarious!

Tortellini

Emma and Sarah Beth both love cheese tortellini. Annie had "little weiners" for supper.

Emma's Laugh

What joy bubbles up from her little giggle! I love it. It is the perfect little girl giggle.
