This morning I called Emma a punk. She did not agree. I told her that she was in good company because DeeDee and Annie are also punks. She said, "Well, I might agree with you on that, but I am not a punk!" Then she leaned over to me and said, "Did you know that when you get to be eight you are a preteen?" This was said with a sly little smile. I told her I didn't, and asked her where she heard that. She said she didn't know. I said, "Well, that is also when you get to be a punk!"
Sarah Beth does and says funny things everyday. I love the way she says "Dookie!" when she wants a cookie. She also says, "Di da" whenever we tell her that we love her, but if prompted she will point to her eye and say, "I," then point to her heart and say, "wove," and then just fill in the blank. It could be MaaMaa (Emma), Nini (Annie), Daddy, Mommy, Mag mag, and other family member or even Mee mock (Mickey).
She is in love with Mickey. She could watch it all day and has a couple of times lately when she has been sick. She has some Disney stickers on the seat in front of her car seat. Sometimes she talks to them. It isn't unusual at all hear her tell Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Nemo hello, no or goodbye while she sits in the car. That happens when she isn't dancing to Radio Disney or praise songs on the radio.
Another favorite thing I love to hear her say is "Dat un!" or "I ant dat un." She means "that one," and she is very good at making requests that sound a lot more like demands. She has bossy down pat, but she is so excited and enthusiastic about everything that it is easy to overlook. She often claps her hands and jumps up and down as she says, "Yay!!!" She also will throw both fists up in the air and say, "Yea!!!" when she agrees with something we have asked her. But if she doesn't agree she may tell us what she wants us to do and then say, "K???" That's if we are lucky. If we aren't she'll throw a fit.
She is also such a sweet little thing. This morning when I dropped her off at Diane's house she told me bye and gave me a kiss, then I headed one way toward the door as she and Diane went toward the family room. I called to her from the door to tell her that I love her. I heard her little feet walking toward me, and she peeked around the corner. Then she looked at me and held her little hand up to her lips. As she blew me a kiss, my heart just about melted. She looked absolutely precious standing there in her bright green Minnie Mouse p.j.s with her crazy bedhead. I just loved it!

What. A. Day.
This afternoon I thought I was dropping Emma off five minutes early for gymnastics, and I was really proud of us for not just getting there on time, but EARLY. When I came back to pick her up at 4:15, I realized that gymnastics start at 4:15. Dance starts at 3:30. On Thursday.
Sarah Beth and I spent the unexpected 45 minutes of car time driving to McDonald's. I was hoping she would take a little nap since she hadn't had one, and Annie had a game. She didn't. So I got her some cookies, and she munched away quietly in her carseat. We picked Emma back up, and she went from laughing about the fact that I dropped her off 45 minutes early to crying about it in a matter of seconds. So I told her that I would take her to get a treat to make up for what I am sure was a tortuous time watching the younger gymnastics class. She chose ice cream from McDonald's. We went to the one on the other end of town this time. We stopped by the house to pick up Annie so she could benefit from her crazy mother too, and when we did I noticed Anderson sitting in the window of an unused upstairs bedroom. I'd never seen him do that and mentioned it to Emma.
All this time Sarah Beth was wide awake. As soon as we pull in the driveway, she goes right to sleep. So we did homework in the driveway. The neighbors probably thought we were crazy sitting there with the lights on in the car. But she has been sick, and she needed some rest.
I went in and made a pizza for supper, which required that I turn on the oven and open a box. But still. We'd already been to McDonald's twice. We needed a semi-homecooked meal. Then I went back to the car where we continued to work on homework until Sarah Beth decided to wake up.
The whole point of the nap was that she would be in a good mood. Someone forgot to tell her that though. She screamed for the next 25 minutes. Really. The entire time we ate our pizza and while the girls went to get ready for Annie's game. I tried juice, food, rocking, standing, sitting, holding her, putting her down. Nothing worked.
I finally called up to the girls that we had to go. Then I heard Anderson meow. Only it sounded kind of funny. Like he was behind a door or something. I remembered seeing him in the window earlier that afternoon. I asked Emma if the door to the green bedroom was closed. She said yes. Oh dear. I asked her to open it, so she did and Anderson came right out. Emma let out a moan. She told me it was very smelly.
I couldn't do anything about it at that point because Annie's game started in 15 minutes. So I told Emma to shut the door. I asked Annie and Emma if they knew when the door got shut, and they said that they thought Tim had closed it the day we cleaned their rooms. That was Sunday. Today is Tuesday. Nice.
Annie worked really hard during her game. She had several steals, played great defense, scored some points, and got rebounds. They got beat, but I was so proud of her for working hard. While she was doing that, Sarah Beth was busy cleaning the bleachers with a wipe, throwing a Skittle onto the floor, nearly getting hit with a ball, and cupping her hands over her mouth yelling, "Nini, Move!" Emma was talking with her teacher, who was also there and did Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, which ends with a smack on the forehead to her teacher. It is a good thing her teacher loves her!
We dropped Annie off at dance after her game and came home to clean up the bedroom. My mom came over to help, and I am so glad! There was a hairball under the desk, poo on the comforter, and a sleeping bag that was under the bed was saturated! The whole room smelled like ammonia. It was nasty. We got that cleaned up and it was time to go get Annie from dance.
We got home a little after nine, and even though everyone needed to go to bed, we needed a little down time, so I got the girls a snack and Sarah Beth some juice. In the time it took me to pour Emma a glass of milk, I turned around and Sarah Beth was sprinkling her juice all over the kitchen floor. She said, "Make mess!" Umm, yes you did.
So I spent some time on my hands and knees cleaning up all the little babble ju sprinkles off of the floor, and while I did Sarah Beth went and got a baby. She was playing with it, and then took it over to the bench we use for time out, shoved the baby onto the bench and said, "NOooooo." She was using a deep, rough voice when she said it, and it was hilarious. The big girls were cracking up! Then she would take the baby off of the bench and love on it until she decided the baby needed to go back to time out.
At this point it was way past bedtime. The big girls landed on the pull-out couch--a rare mid-week treat, and I took Sarah Beth to bed. Tim missed all the fun since he had to be at the regional tournament!
It was a totally crazy afternoon, but I will do it all over again if I get to spend it with these three little girls!
