My kids are funny

Tonight in Target Sarah Beth kept singing and doing motions for "wah, wah, wah" and "shh, shh, shh." She was singing The Wheels On The Bus. It was so cute.

While we were there Emma spent some of her birthday money on Squinkies. She is playing with the little house that is like a gumball machine now. She said, "Augh! I think my toy is a rip off!"

And then Emma boxed

She is very good at it too! Tonight Annie took on the roll of supporter and would dab her eyebrow and bring her a drink. It was too funny!

Touchdown!

Sarah Beth did not let the cold weather at the ballgame slow her down last night. She danced and sang (loud!). She also signaled Touchdown! many times. She had lots of opportunities as we had a great game. At half time she started tugging on my blanket and saying cmon. Then "Lets go!" She'd had it! She was lucky that Nana and Papa had pulled their car in so she watched the rest of the game from the comfort of a heated car. She was soooo good!

Trash Talk

Annie is playing Wii tennis. She is in a heated doubles match against two guys. She is doing some serious trash talking. Not the least of which is calling her opposition mama's boys. Emma is cracking up!

Earrings!!

After much deliberation, Annie finally decided to get her ears pierced.  She was very nervous.

She took a friend with her, which was quite a blessing.  Her sweet friend talked to her while her ears were pierced.  It was only this distraction that got her through the process.

Once it was over, she was so happy with the results!

School fund raiser

Not too long ago, Emma's school had a fund raiser.  We didn't do a lot of selling.  We bought some things from her and so did Mimi and GanGan.  Annie spent her own money to buy some Gummi Bears. Emma also bought something with her money.

When I opened the box last night, there were no Gummi Bears, but there was some Peanut Brittle.  I told Annie that her order was messed up.  I kept looking, and I told Emma that her order got all messed up because there were also these foam things and nobody ordered anything like that.

Emma said, "I did!  They are my adjustable foam hangers, so I can hang my clothes on them, and they won't fall off!"

I had never looked at her order!  When she told me that she had ordered those hangers, I just cracked up!

Mommy time

Sarah Beth was having lots of fun getting her picture made a few says ago. She decided it would be more fun if we had our picture made together.

She sat on the steps and patted the empty space beside her. Then she said smile in the way that only she can. She made it very clear she wanted both of us to be in the picture. I was happy to oblige her.

Thus was one of our first attempts. We got up and walked around the house a bit, and she decide to try some more. Instead if going cheek to cheek on this one, she decided to pose her little hands.

She is such a joy to me--even when she is keeping my hands full!!

Arthur Titus

Do you know him? Tim does and so do his mom and my dad. Emma had some pretty tough spelling words this week. One of them was arthritis. She kept calling it "that Arthur Titus" word. She got it right on the test!

Shop Girl

On a recent trip to the store, Sarah Beth insisted on carrying Emma's purse. When she reached this little chair, she decided to take a break. She put on a little lip gloss and flashed a big smile. Then she was ready for sone more shopping.

Sweet Talk

When I took Annie to dance tonight we got there a little early. I told her she got to talk with me for seven minutes! She was all Yhea right, but then she stayed. And we talked. And it just made my heart full and joyful on a day that had some definite down points.

We discussed the latest topics in seventeen magazine since she has started reading it in the school library. She was shocked to find out that I actually used to read seventeen, but not when I was 12. I also shared some information about an upcoming event at school that I told her she could not tell anyone about yet. When I told her I recognized the mix of fear and excitement in her eyes. The uncertainty of this experience for the first time obviously made her nervous. And that makes me glad.

We shared a lot in seven minutes. I just love my sweet girl so much. I love watching her grow and grow up. While I would love to go back and hold her in my lap and know that she would fit again, I will take these precious, sweet moments. I look forward to many more.

Silly Girls

Annie and Emma had a blast editing some pictures today. Their creations are hilarious. I just love seeing what they will come up with!

Annie turned Emma into a super cute fairy and flower. This was after she made her a clown that was too scary to post!

Annie with white hair, scratches on her face, and stinky arm pits. Created by Emma.

We aren't sure why Emma decided to make Annie a nurse, but she does look cute!

Ready for the Game

For her birthday, Tim took Annie to a football game. They left this morning. Annie had he new plaid coat, and her hair was in braids. She looked so cute, and just right for a college ballgame.

Annie's Birthday

Annie is twelve.  Earlier in the year just thinking about that made my stomach turn.  I couldn't believe that she has gotten so big.  However, as I have had a chance to watch her at school and at home, I have realized that she is blossoming.

She was so excited about her birthday.  Mimi got her doughnuts from a new bakery in town for breakfast.  Tim visited her during lunch, and she ran up to him and gave him a big hug.  She was so happy to see her Daddy!

For her party, Mimi and GanGan came over for supper, cake and ice cream.  I've never seen her so excited about presents.  Really.  The pictures tell the story.

The Orchard

Over fall break we took the girls to the orchard.  They had such a great time, and it was nice to be able to go during the week when it wasn't so crowded.
